[Why?Town]

I have a friend in the landscaping business. This time of year he does snow removal, as do most landscapers. He pays $8 to $9 dollars an hour to start and isn't afraid to pay proven good employees more than that. While I wouldn't consider working for him a life-long career for most people, $8+ per hour to start isn't exactly peanuts in this economy. You wouldn't believe the difficulty he has getting employees to show up for work and to work when they do show up.

He gets his employees from this area's pool of people looking for jobs and willing to accept that kind of work. Do we really need the government to create more taxpayer subsidised jobs in that sector?

We are expecting a lot of snow in the next few days.  The entire community would benefit if some people were hired to clear snow from sidewalks and apply icemelt as needed.

Do you favor creating W.P.A. styled programs for the unemployed in the Mahoning Valley?

This emblem was on a section of sidewalk in Youngstown.  I'de say it was a good investment and the section of sidewalk held up quite well for 73 years.
