Volunteers Needed for Spring 2010 City of Youngstown City-Wide Cleanup this Saturday

WHEN: This Saturday, June 19th, 8am-12pm

WHERE: Covelli Center (Downtown Youngstown)

DETAILS: Great American Cleanup of Youngstown. With spring rapidly approaching, Youngstown Litter Control and Recycling needs your help to Keep America Beautiful in Youngstown.

Groups and volunteers will meet at 8am at the Covelli Center. If you'd like to volunteer but don't have a group, the following neighborhood groups welcome additional volunteers:

• Newport Neighborhood Association:
Project: Clear several vacant lots of debris.
Meet: 8:30am @ Martin Luther Lutheran Church (420 Clearmount Dr.)

• Wick Park Neighborhood Association:
Project: Pick up trash in 2 block radius north, east, and south of Wick Park.
Meet: 9am @ 1st Unitarian Church (1105 Elm St.)

• West Side Neighbors:
Project: Clean MVSD City Park on Dunlap/Conn. Ave. Group also seeks to clean portions of Mahoning and Oakwood Aves.
Meet: 9:00am @ Allabella's (Mahoning Ave)

• Lansingville Block Watch:
Project: Cleaning/planting of flowers on Indianola Ave. in preparation for July 4th neighborhood parade.
Meet: 10am @ St. Matthias Church Parking Lot
