In 1998 I facilited the return of the derby to Youngstown by working with the Uptown Kiwanis Club and Youngstown Fire Fighters Local #312. I got off the Board of Directors last year.  The Fifth Ave site was great and the city worked with us as well as YSU. It was a big site and required alot of work. We used the smaller Mineral Ridge site for spring and fall rallies. That site is smaller and required less manpower and provided a large parking lot for staging. We had a proposed site to build a permanent site , however it must not have worked out. I would hope that it will return to Youngstown again in the future. This is a great organization with a dedicated board, they could use volunteers and funding.
