Woman reportedly scammed into buying $1,000 worth of gift cards in Grove City

Grove City police say that a woman was scammed into purchasing over $1,000 in Google Play cards.  On June 13, Grove City police were called to the 800 block of Stewart Avenue, because of online theft.  The woman told police that she received a message on her computer that a virus has been downloaded.  In the message the victim received, there was a phone number that gave her instructions to call a number to have the virus removed.  The victim called the number ...
