I've heard that the response to this electronics drive was overwhelming.
Cars were lined up around several blocks.

Many cars loaded with electronics were turned away.   :P

I wonder how much gas was wasted and pollution created by all the cars in that line.

Considering that Mahoning Co only gives it's residents a couple hours a couple times a year I'm not surprised that it seemed overwhelming.  I'd lay money down to say that more people probable avoided it than actually got in a line like that.

Why can't this county get it's act together and and make stuff like this a regular occurrence? Or better yet, like Trumbull County. If you live there you can drop off electronics 5 weekdays and household hazardous waste every Wednesday from May through October. TVs cost nothing to drop off but they limit that to only 2 (at a time? Idk) and they also added a handful of Saturdays just in case they're needed.

Luckily my mother lives in Trumbull County so my stuff ends up with her stuff and I drive her and her vehicle to drop it off, then we get some lunch.

Trumbull also does much better with tires. Every township/city takes a certain number once or twice a year from their residents and there is no waiting in line for those either.
