Demolition is in progress to tear down the condemned buildings where the new Court of Appeals building will go.

In the news the city is again talking about a new Justice Center that would house the Municipal Court and Police Station, but the report clearly stated that that is in the future, and no date has been set, a site on Fifth Avenue is being mentioned.

The city's Municipal Court judges have collected close to $1 million dollars in court fees specifically to help pay for the project. The city will look at a variety of sources to fund the construction.
