Why was there so little Vindicator coverage of this terrible situation? There was a small article buried inside the B section of today's paper. People told me It was on the radio news Friday night--not sure if it was on the TV news. This type of situation has definitely made headline news in the past.  The city and the neighborhood need to be aware of what's happening in our vacant houses.

Powers Way has at least 7 vacant properties as does Point View. Irma, Mount Vernon and Belden have about 5 apiece. Neilson has 16. Where is the Youngstown 2010 plan in action in this neighborhood?  This neighborhood has had at least 3 murders, dog fighting pits, drug houses, robberies and major vandalism. Not to mention neglected homes, trashy yards, high grass, trash cans out early and late, high turnover of families in rental properties, dogs tied up 24/7 in the backyards, junk cars in driveways and backyards, etc. The city does not seem to care. Do you think it's easy living in this neighborhood?  Our block watch has to be constantly vigilant.
