I guess that we are fortunate to have 2 ... count 'em T-W-O nearby libraries near me.
1. The Newport Branch
2. The Brownlee Woods Branch

I also believe the library should stay on Mahoning Avenue for many of the same reasons

Jay cited.  However, I wish it were possible to start saving money (I believe this is how

the board operates) to build a new library on the lot they own behind the existing branch.

It doesn't have to be the Taj Mahal type that Boardman, Canfield, Poland, and East are; but

it would be nice to have a building with handicap accessible restrooms and a meeting room,

a roof that doesn't leak (flat and architectural issues are the cause, I believe), and room for

a greater selection of books.  Just wishing, I guess.

The Mill Creek Park location would be closer for those of us in the fifth ward.  However, I prefer the Mahoning Avenue location for many reasons.

Many people who come to the library's current location walk there.
The Mahoning Avenue library is on two WRTA bus routes.
We do not need another vacant building on Mahoning Avenue.
Although the Mahoning Avenue library does not have a food service, it is within walking distance of numerous eateries.

I heard this is not going to happen
Library is going to stay on Mahoning
Thoughts?
