The VFW requires that you have served in a Combat Zone.
The American Legion requires that you ave served at least one day on Active duty during time of war.
I believe the AMVETS only require that you have served.

All require an Honorable Discharge.

Most if not all have an Auxiliary....
American Legion (some posts) have a Sons of American Legion.

SO true, we spend so much time recruiting trying to keep enough active members to do a funeral that we barely have time for anything else.

Such as trying to coordinate getting some supplies donated so we can build a ramp for a disabled Vet.....

Rifle squad for Memorial Day this year was one member short and had one member who had never even held an M1 before that morning.

Our Auxiliary President told me they may have to close at the end of this year.

It's being done.
