I plan on spending a lot of time in the park when I finally get up there
to finish working on my properties.  Once I get there, I'll probably be
up there for several months

Gosh I have a lot of catching up to do......and people to visit there

Towntalk

Yes, and it was a very enjoyable day, I really enjoyed your company, and of course your dog.
When we had my Stepfather in the hospital dying of prostate cancer, two of the drivers for Independent Cab who were good friends of the family would shut off the meter and take us through Millcreek Park to see Fellows Riverside Gardens to help Mother get her mind off Dad for a while after spending all morning at the hospital. There is something magic about that park that is therapeutic as well as beautiful.

Thanks for your input Jay. As I said, my family moved to the North Side in 1958 and I haven't been in the park since then except for a brief visit a few years ago, so I'm not up on what its like today.

Was that the trip you and I took to see the old mill?

:)

I know in Struthers the 2 city parks "close" at 9pm......

Isn't the park closed at dark?

There are no sidewalks along the roads in the park.

For the most part, the park does not have street lights either.

For a person's safety, it's not good to be walking in the park after dark.

Two of the West Side Neighborhood groups are in close proxcimity with Mill Creek Park so I was hoping that for the benefit of those who are not familiar with the area can give us their feedback about the Park and traveling through it after dark. It's been years since I lived over there so, while I have a lot of good memories about the park, so many things have changes since 1958 that I'm in no position to discuss the situation that exists today. Please chime in.

Then I guess you have to drive or take the bus.....

Towntalk

It is illegal to walk through Mill Creek Park after dark according to the linked story, but what if you live on a street where the park is on one side of the street and your house on the other, or if you have go through a section of the park to get to someone elses home, say your Mother-In-Laws?
