According to the latest YPD Crime Map, the current 5th and 7th Ward are the safest sides of the city.

Jay, here is my question, and it has been my question all along. We know that the neighborhood groups and block watches in our area, and I suspect also the 4th Ward have been extremely active, and that our councilman, and yours have been actively aiding these groups, but we also know that there are council persons who are not at all active in their wards such as the 2nd and 6th. We know also that once he can no longer serve on Council, John will not just sit back, but will use his influence to aid the groups in our area, but there will be only so much that he will be able to do. Will these neighborhood groups still be as effective as they were previously, or will the new council persons throw up roadblocks that will negate all the hard work that these groups have done?

If council passes the five ward issue on Tuesday, the pending legal action against them won't be needed.

City Council has tentatively scheduled a special meeting Tuesday to approve the charter amendment that would reduce the city to 5 wards.
