The Youngstown Police Department was called to a home at 3337 Loveland Road just after midnight for shots fired.

When police arrived, they found 37-year-old Robert Vanderpool slumped over on the front porch. He was shot in the shoulder.

According to police reports, 76-year-old Rosemary Vanderpool heard Robert yell "I'm dying mom." She opened and quickly shut the front door when she was shot in the leg through the door.

Rosemary was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

Police found a casing in the front yard and a portion of a magazine on the porch.

Two marijuana plants were also discovered in the basement of the home.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Police are investigating.
