Many many moons ago the 'Trapper' helped us for a couple of years at a booth for Mahoning County Citizens for Retarded Children (MCCRC) at the Boardman Octoberfest.  He was a big draw to say the least.  We sold some crafts and Fall decorations.  One of the things he brought and we sold were Osage Oranges (kind of bright green soft ball size and lumpy) which if kept in the kitchen would keep bugs away.  It was kind of funny because that kind of tree was right behind our booth and we sold and picked them right from that tree along with what he brought  however it was for a good cause. :-*  He was just such a Great Man - may he rest in peace and may his memory be Eternal.

A voice and face known as "The Friendly Trapper" that was familiar to thousands around the Mahoning Valley has gone silent.

Harold Bailey, 84, passed away during the weekend.

For years, Bailey was known for his popular book series and radio and television appearances where he discussed wildlife issues, such as how to get critters like raccoon and skunks out of homes.

The Trapper developed a huge following that spread to other states and Canada. Funeral arrangements are still being made.
