the more a locale sells their air waves to corp am, the less the local voice is heard.

I don't know about Louie, but I'd love to see you get a show for your music at WKBN ... a 2 or 3 hour show say on Sunday mornings.

Louie is considered a "brokered radio host." he pays the station for air time and recoups the money by getting sponsors.
That is probably the main reason he is on low-power AM stations....such stations are more than willing to sell programming hours
if they can't find traditional radio advertisers.....

which would raise the next question, if the new owners ask him to leave 1540am....what other stations are left? WSOM at 600am.....
or back downtown?

That's a good question. Louie through his whole history as a local talk host has been at low power stations, and his ratings haven't been such that one of the larger stations would jump at the opportunity to add him to their schedule.

2 old time area AM radio stations are being sold again....
In other filings at the FCC, WHIPLASH RADIO, LLC is selling Classic  Country WYCL-A (THE FARM)/NILES, OH and Adult Standards WHTX-A (THE  FABULOUS 1570)/WARREN-YOUNGSTOWN, OH to NELSON CINTRON's SAGITTARIUS  COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $150,000 ($10,000 cash, $140,000 in a promissory note) plus an LMA before closing.  CINTRON owns 33.3% of LA CADENA  MUNDIAL HISPANA, INC., licensee of noncommercial Spanish Variety  WHWN/PAINESVILLE, OH."

WYCL-1540am is the home of the Louie Free talk show...will Louie remain at the station or will he move to another station in the area?
