One person told me to cut the tent caterpillar nest out of the tree and then toast it on a BBQ fire.

I've noticed many Youngstown trees infested with these tent worms.

These were located on a black walnut tree.

what can one do to prevent this to happen to thier trees?

I have a few of those in my Black Walnut trees also. I do hope they won't damage the trees.
