Michael, I e-mailed Kibby yesterday with material relative to your project.  I did not have your e-mail so you may ask Kibby for copies.
I forgot I'll have him forward it to me. I am sure he'll be interested. We'll probably focus much more on the 'idea of providing air travel' for the companies that are drilling here. Think of V&M and how they are overseas. A connecting flight via Dulles or Chicago could get them on their way...

I love to see that some of the young are being raised correctly, this kid is going to go along way.
Thanks for your remarks and please GreenPartyGuy, stay on topic!

This isn't about conservative vs. liberal, this is about advancing our airport forward to help assist in economic development within the Mahoning Valley!

Having slept on the idea, I am beginning to think you guys might really be the ones to make the regional airport prosper this time.  Again with the fast development of our oil in eastern Ohio, a host of oil and residual industry will be flooding the area.  As I posted before, Youngstown is the largest population center in eastern Ohio where the Utica shale is, again one only has to read about what happened to Forth Worth, Texas when they were the first to harvest their shale gas six years ago.  They created 85,000 jobs and the City prospered, Youngstown is in a position to be the center of what we in the land business are hearing to be the largest oil boom in the US.  Look at what is happenning right next door in W. PA. marcellus shale play, they are prospering too.  Which, brings me to my point of air transportation and AIR CARGO, yes flights should be scheduled quickly directly to Dallas and Oklahoma.  As we speak, we just sent our full time General Counsel down to Dallas to meet with our oil and gas cert. Atty. down there, I'm sure his flight wasn't direct, and this is the second time in two weeks that he flew down there.  V&M Star has not invested here because our Mayor is adept, it's the oil and gas, they make steel pipe for this!

With this boom, material, parts, and professionals will need to be transported in and out.  Last October apprx. 85 mineral records researchers arrived in our courthouse to research all the mineral rights in our county, I met several of them, they drove up or flew into other airports.  As they say locally, "Yins" are onto this industry at the right time and YTowner maybe we can prevent your brain from draining away from here like your buddy in N. Canton.  There are lots of empty brains that need to go down the drain and several are on this forum.
Let me get you into contact with the man who is leading up this group. He'll be able to answer some of your questions.. Check your PM box.

I glanced at your website, very interesting.

The angle that you guys seem to be missing is the 800 LB. gorilla in the room, I cannot fault you guys because the nature of the industry is secrecy, the oil discovery here in eastern, ohio (Utica shale) and the accompanying infrastructure projects locally.   Many do not notice it, but Hugh oil tanks with escorts are arriving weekly, brine tankers are running thru Poland, just this morning in Struthers their seems to be more tank cars than coal cars on the train.

The airport's business to capture, is the oil business in our mist.  If you guys need some contacts, we will be happy to put you in touch.
Funny you mention the oil drilling here. It was a topic we discussed at the meeting and something we would like to pounce on with V&M of course leading the discussion with its expansion and proximity to the airport.

But please email me. Would love contacts to help us moving forward! Thanks.

Is this a private enterprise?
Let me advise you to take a look at our website: http://yngairpartners.org.

This is being launched by people in the private sector who see the need to assist the airport in attracting additional flights/airlines to the facilities. As you will see on the website, they are in talks with a number of carriers right now, but we still have some work to do. This group will work to raise the local fundraising match in a DOT grant to bring air service here. There are a few other things as well that I can forward you via email that may interest you.
