OLIVER! Musical to entertain Playhouse audiences
Patrons can bring non-perishable food item for chance to win season ticket

It takes a cast of more than fifty people to present the musical Oliver! At the Youngstown Playhouse, April 8 through April 17. The Tony Award winning musical was adapted from the Charles Dickens classic, Oliver Twist.

Directed by Donna Downie with musical direction by Anthony Ruggiero, the Mainstage production tells the touching tale of an orphan boy who runs away from the orphanage and tries to "pick a pocket or two." The show features such memorable songs as 'Food, Glorious Food', 'Where Is Love?', 'Consider Yourself', 'As Long As He Needs Me', and 'I'd Do Anything.' The role of Oliver is played by Donny Wolford; the role of Fagin is played by David Jendre. For a complete cast list, find the Youngstown Playhouse on facebook and look for the Oliver! event page.

During the run of Oliver!, patrons can bring a non-perishable item to donate to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Those making a donation will be entered into a drawing to win a season pass for the 2011-2012 season.

"It only seems right that we do our part to help those in our valley who are hungry," said Youngstown Playhouse Executive Director Mary Ruth Lynn. "If each person who sees the show brings just one item, we could make a big impact."

Guests will have their first chance to get season tickets for the 2011-2012 season during Oliver! Season passes will be good for any six shows at the Youngstown Playhouse (Mainstage, Griffith Adler, etc.) After a pass has been used six times, patrons can present the pass for a discount on any additional shows. Plus, season passes will be available at a discounted price of $70 for adults and $50 for seniors during the run of Oliver! This special price only lasts during the run of Oliver!, so act fast.

Fridays & Saturdays, April 8, 9, 15, 16 @7:30 p.m.
Sundays, April 10, 17 @ 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors/students.
