I plan to be there. I think this plan will stir up some energy and hopefully, jobs.

William DeCicco, the speaker, is also is involved in the Mahoning River Consortium which is the longterm clean-up vision for the Mighty Mahoning.  The Consortium worked with 3000 school children last year who had to study the river for 2 weeks and do related projects. I think we need to teach our children about our connection to Mother Nature. We cannot live apart from our physical world and we cannot abuse it for long.

I hope everone in the Seventh Ward relizes that the "Mahoning River Corridor of Opportunity"'s only closets  Entrances and Excits to Interstate 680 are ALL IN THE SEVENTH WARD ! ! ! And when you say Youngstown and the "Manohing River Corridor of Opportunity" I think you are talking SEVENTH WARD Youngstown.  I am sorry I can not make Thursday Meetings for personal reasons - I would sure think the 7th Warders would have a LOT of questions to ask ?  And I hope someone askes them too ! ! !

This month's meeting is on Thursday, February 19th. Please plan to attend even if you aren't a Coalition member because our speaker (7pm) is William DeCicco, President of CASTLO and he will be talking about the new developments at the old Stop 14. A new bridge will be going up there. His general topic is the Mahoning River Corridor of Opportunity. I believe there are 1400 acres of brownfields (old, unused industrial lands), 700 of which are in Youngstown. This project affects the whole Mahoning Valley. Please plan to attend. The meeting location for 2003 is Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church right off Midlothian at Everett and Irma.  See you there.

All meetings are open to the community. However, only members are allowed to vote. Thank you.

The 7th Ward Citizens Coalition, Inc. supports the comprehensive citywide plan known as Youngstown 2010.
