It is believed that the fires are the work of the same person.

The City Arson Bureau is working with the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Youngstown Police Department to try and catch the pyromaniac.

Any new information or details can be found at youngstownfire.com.

Do you know if there are any leads on the arsonist.  Is it believed to be the same person starting all of the fires on the North Side?

Simultaneous North Side Fires
Story and photos by Greg Ricker, youngstownfire.com Webmaster on 2/23/2006.

City firefighters were busy again extinguishing two simultaneous fires on the city's North Side. Companies responded to 171 Tod Lane between Kensington and Elm around 12:45am Thursday morning. Engines 7, 12, 6, Squad 33, Ladder 22 and Battalions 1 and 2 responded. Engine 7 arrived on scene and reported a working fire in a vacant residential. Arriving companies went on the defensive and protected the surrounding exposures while letting the structure burn to the ground. 10 minutes later while crews were busy fighting the fire on Tod Lane, a second structure fire was reported at the corner of Wick and Bissel. Engines 3, 2, 9, Ladder 24 and Battalion 2 responded. Battalion 2 pulled up on scene and reported a fully involved vacant residential. Engine 3's telesqurt was set up to help keep the fire contained as it was allowed to burn to the ground. The neighboring house had previously been burned down. Both fires are believed to be arson.
