I believe the discrepancy resulted from the incident on the east side in which the police shot and killed a man.

In the Vindy article, they called this the city's 15th homicide for the year.  Is there doubt that any of the incidents listed on the map is not a homicide?  Or did the Vindy just make a mistake?

According to the map, eight of the homicides (half of the total) happened on the south side.

The Youngstown Homicide Map has been updated to include the most recent homicide from August 29, 2010.
