Cradle to grave, that's the way Dennis thinks the Government should care for us. Don't worry about personal responsibility. Big brother will take care of you. Scary isn't it.

Note that the word "parent" is conspicuously absent from the post, as if they have no responsibility in caring for their children anymore.

What can we say about Democrats and Republicans being in charge of this state and country? Well, for one thing, we now see a rise in children poverty thanks to their leadership and policies.

The rate of children living in poverty this year will climb to nearly 22%, the highest rate in two decades, according to an analysis by the non-profit Foundation for Child Development. Nearly 17% of children were living in poverty in 2006, before the recession began.

The foundation's Child and Youth Well-Being Index tracks 28 key statistics about children, such as health insurance coverage, parents' employment, infant mortality and preschool enrollment.

This is why we need Green Party leadership for Ohio.

We need a new political party that will stand up for children in poverty: stand up for universal single-payer health care, stand up for better employment opportunities with more Blue-Green jobs for Ohio, stand up for better and more funding of public schools with an emphasis on early-childhood enrollment, and stand up for a cleaner environment that will control dangerous toxins being emitted into our Ohio streams and air.

The Democrats and Republicans only care about corporations. John Kasich only cares about Wall Street and Ted Strickland only cares about protecting dirty coal, nuke, and energy plants as well as private health care giants denying claims to those in poverty.

Is Ted Strickland and the conservative Democrats and John Kasich and the Ultra-Conservative Republicans the best we can do for children in poverty? I hope not. Vote Green this November.
