There is a current vacancy on the WRTA Board.  Mayor Jay Williams will make the appointment to fill the position.

Under the new countywide bus system, the Mahoning County Commissioners make four appointments to the Board and the Mayor of Youngstown makes three appointments.

how does one gain appt to this board by jay williams?

My Guess

Regular ridership fares are
Adult     $1.25
Senior    $ .60
Student  $ .75
Transfer $ .25

The goal is probably to get as many adult riders as possible because they generate the most income per ride.  A transfer is the continuation of a ride already started as an adult, senior or student fare.

Example
An adult rider using a transfer would spend $1.50 ($1.25 plus $ .25) for travel in one direction.

Ridership Figures For January 2010

32% Students
30% Adults
23% Seniors
15% Transfers

Where did these stats come from?

85% of total riders are either students, adults, or seniors.

15% are tranfers.

Looks like politian math.

Students, adults, or seniors should add up to 100%, then the transfers are a % of that total.

Counting someone as a student, adult, or senior and then counting them again if/when they transfer will surely show higher numbers.

Maybe they meant transvestites?
