City Fails Wick Park 2010 Test

It's really sad.

Especially compared to that funeral home that took 30 years to be torn down.

There were a few city officials at the meeting, including the councilman, and Bill D'Avignon.

Did the councilman and any department heads attend the Wick Park neighborhood meeting?

Did these same officials take the information back to others including the Street Department?

Investigate to find out who failed to communicate with the Street Department.

This is just another example of one department working at cross purposes with another.  Remember this past year when a city crew mowed down the trees on a north side lot belonging to Treez Please?

I have attended many community meetings over the years and it is very rare to find a city employee who actually cares enough to attend public meetings on his own time.

After a mutual commitment was made just one week ago between residents and stakeholders of the Wick Park neighborhood and city officials to prioritize historic preservation around the north side park, and specifically with forming a community task force to develop a plan to incorporate the remaining historical structures on 259 Park with a community project, the city's street department leveled the carriage house and destroyed what was left of the stone structure earlier today.
