Cass Sunstein, I believed this should have it's own thread.

To be honest, "Rusty's" remarks about Bush hit home. I remember all those instances he cited, and I remember thinking, "It's OK, because Bush is doing it and I support and trust him", but I did have concerns. And he is right, I didn't speak out about what he did as I am speaking out against Obama.

I supported the Patriot Act, because I believe we are at war with Islam, but now realize that I would rather take my chances that there are other ways to chase and apprehend terrorists, (though not as effective) then allow our Constitutional protections to lapse.

Bush set precedents and took liberties with the Constitution. I should have known then, that the day might come that someone would occupy the White House that I didn't trust, and that the measures I supported, I would now fear. Consider it a lesson learned.

I'll tell you flat out that I did not agree with everything Bush did or said, some of his "signing statements" included. But Bush never came right out and said that he would interpret the law the way he saw it. And not the Supreme Court. Besides that, Bush is history. We are living today, where our President has surrounded himself with some questionable characters.

And After Mr Obama's little "I Won" speech, we know that there will be little chance at bipartisanship.

Care to cite sources for that statement?  I would like to research that claim.

If Bush WAS a dictator he would not have stepped down this past Sept. 20.  The country and government passed peacefully to a new president on that day, as it has ever since 1789.

Bush did this very thing for 8 years and NONE of you seemed too concerned about it.

According to Bush, the constitution is "... just a g** d*** piece of paper."

"President Bush reportedly exclaimed in reference to the U.S. Constitution."   Key word reportedly, and this allegation was proven false.

As far as the rest I believe Bush had 13 Czars to Obamas 32+ (I don't know if he even knows how many).

And face reality, the world changed on 9-11-01 and we had better wake up to that. That doesn't mean we take away any Americans rights, but we also need to tighten up Security. We have failed at this in major ways, even though we are safer now than in Sept 01.

Obama sees our constitution and nation of laws as impediments to his agenda.  Our only hope is that he continues to piss off more and more Americans so that we can take our Congress back in a year.

Are you bothered by Cass Sunstein's remark that laws should be interpreted by the President and his advisers instead of the courts, or not? (As asked By Dan Moadus)

I know it bothers the hell out of me, This guy wants to single handedly throw away our system of checks and balances.
