Quote me if I'm wrong but wasn't that tried once before in New England but the folks nixed it because it interfered with their views.

I believe that the Kennedy's had a lot to do with it being nixed along with their rich neighbors.

QUESTION:

Given the types of weather they have with gale winds etc could these wind turbans withstand the gale force winds?

Has there been a study made about the ability of these windmills to withstand 75 to 100 mph winds?

"Plans are brewing to promote a network of offshore wind farms all along the East Coast connected by a transmission 'spine' and shared shipping ports where local turbines will embark for deepwater power fields over the horizon.
