Jay I don't think anyone would dispute that. What's your point in the the race issue?

jay

Although not a T-shirt maker, The Carhartt Clothing Company is closing its last remaining U.S. factory.

I bet the workers at that factory wished people all over this country had been loyal to American Made products.

THIS IS A FUNDRAISER!!!!!!!!! What if someone comes up and has another reason for wanting to
not pay the full  price.  Then another and another.  I paid my fee and I will be working the race not
walking or running. The big picture here is to support a organization that has worked hard to
provide a quality event for the community.  How many times do we all buy tickets for events or
organizations that we know we won't be going to but buy because we support the cause.   THIS IS NOT A DRAWN THE LINE IN THE SAND ISSUE!

t-shirts......$6.99  !!!!!!!

jay

How about a reduced entry fee if I don't want a foreign made T-shirt?

There's a bigger picture. You gotta start somewhere. I agree with Jay.

Jay, are you saying that the tee shirt issue is more important than that the event is to raise funds and awareness for a 10th anniversary FNY?

john r. swierz

I still have calls out for quotes.

jay

Is there any chance of viewing a shirt prior to the race deadline?  I would like to make sure it is an American Made shirt before I enter.

john r. swierz

Jay, I'm the chairman of the race and I'm not saying that we won't do that very thing.
But you have to really think things through when you make these demands. As and example,
you are having a fundraiser and the margin of profit is very small to begin with , is it worth it to
add any cost that will almost make the effort  not worth the outcome.  Again , I am not saying
       that we won't do it.

I understand that First Night Youngstown will hold a race/fun walk this fall in downtown Youngstown.  I sure hope they use American made T-shirts and have the shirts printed by a Youngstown company.
