I see the destruction of life in America as we know it; except I believe that the American people will rise to the occasion at some point and stop this insanity. I do not see the Liberal paradise ever becoming reality. Thank God.

QUESTION

We know that there is night baseball games, many football games are played under the lights, so what can we expect if the bill passes the Senate and is signed by the president?

We also know that radio and television stations use huge amounts of electricity 24/7. We also know that many of the radio stations are seriously hurting due to a downturn in advertizing, so what can we expect if they are forced to pay huge electric bills as prescribed under the bill.

It must also be noted that there is also a bill making its way through Congress that will force radio and television stations to pay a tax on every song they play.

Sarge:

Don't you know that unless something is done now, 2012 will mark the end of the world?

Have I ever said not to change? I am all for a positive change in our energy. But I have constantly cautioned to slow down and find the right change. Not what politicians are attempting to force feed us.

There is no emergency that required our congress to vote in favor of a bill that they could not have taken the time to read and debate. A month or a week would not make any difference to the damage they are claiming we have done in 100 years.

This Bill was wrong simply because not one person in favor of it or against it has even yet taken the time to read and understand everything that is in it.

So should we thank our lucky stars for skyrocketing electric bills, cost increases for food, and natural gas?

Medicare will also be taking a big hit.

By the way, you are ignoring the fact that YSU will be doing advanced "green" research that will lead to new jobs.

Oh, that doesn't count does it?

irishbobcat

The exact reason why this valley is behind the rest of the country in new jobs and technologies. We are BACKWARD
THINKERS.......Oh....we're afraid of new things...afraid to change our ways of thinking.....DUH!

Rick Rowlands

Dennis, I don't think so.  After several days of discussion on WKBN you and a Ryan volunteer were the only ones to come out in favor of the bill.  Any way you look at it the majority of our district is opposed to cap and trade.

irishbobcat

A yes vote was the right vote on cap and trade.....

sfc_oliver

So true. My bet is that he has never voted outside the Party on any issue. I would even bet he was told to make the little speech he made during the fake debate on Cap & Tax.

At least his predecessor had the guts to stand up for what he and his constituents believed in.  He was a true representative of his people.

Why read the bills when he's already been told how he will vote by the democratic leadership.  Every last one of us could have called his office in opposition to cap and tax and he would still vote for it.

iwasthere

tim ryan never reads any of the bills that are presented to him to vote on or sponsor. he takes his high school staffers to read all the bills that are presented to him to vote on the next day as gospel truth what they tell him.

Towntalk

Each and everyone of us must stress that ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID and flatly REFUSE to take Ryan's word for ANYTHING!

There's absolutely no question that Ryan will LIE THROUGH HIS TEETH, but we must VOTE OUR POCKETBOOKS and not his word!

Rick Rowlands

I heard on the radio the other day that Dan Moadus (sp?) was considering running against Ryan in the Democrat primary.  I don't know how much of an opposition he would be, but if cap and tax is made into law and it sparks a dramatic rise in inflation he would have quite an argument against Ryan.

Why?Town

I discovered some problems in a county dept. a few years ago that propmted me to phone the commisioners. I left a message on each of their machines. Only Vicky Sherlock got back to me.

At a commisioner meeting a few weeks later Ed Reese told me he left a couple of messages on my answering machine. That never happened. Ludt told me he wasn't able to dial out of the office so he couldn't get back to me. DIAL NINE IDIOT!!!

For the record, none of the commisioners, then or since, have addressed the issue I brought to their attention.

sfc_oliver

I truly wished I did. However I do not know that many people in the valley. Remember I was gone nearly 30 years. I haven't seen any local politicians that impress me that much, though I do like Commissioner Ludt.
