ODOT: Removing trees saves roads

So have you seen the crews along the side of the highway - the ones who are aggressively tearing down tree after tree?  Or maybe you have seen the aftermath.   It's one thing to just cut the grass off the sides of the highway in the summer but ODOT is taking out larges spaces of trees and all other vegetation.  In many areas entire hillsides are wiped clean off standing trees.  It turns out it's not just for looks.  It's an effort to keep the sun shining...
