Portage County deputy set on fire released from hospital

A Portage County deputy who was lit on fire while attempting to serve a search warrant has been released from the hospital. Portage County Sheriff Dave Doak posted the news to Facebook Monday night. Acklin was attempting to serve a warrant Thursday when 45-year-old Jay Brannon allegedly ignited a container of flammable liquid and threw it at him. Acklin suffered burns to 20 percent of his body.
