The Wayside Murder Case (1876-1877)- Canfield

When: Wednesday, March 06, 2019 - 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Canfield Library at CN Meeting Room (Large)

In the history of Mahoning County, only one person was ever executed for a crime. He was a young tramp named Charles Sterling and he was eventually convicted of the murder of fourteen year-old Elizabeth Grombacher. It did not take long, however, before many people began to wonder if they punished the right man. Join Edward Koltonski, PLYMC librarian, in an exploration of this shocking crime that captured the attention of nineteenth-century America. To register call 330-744-8636 and ask for Information Services or register online using the events calendar. For Adults.
