Poll: Yes to Renewable Energy

QUESTION:

IF drilling for new oil and natural gas is so bad and evil to our environment it MUST also stand that all of the old wells are just as evil and must be OUTLAWED.

YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. IT HAS TO BE ALL OR NOTHING.

By the way, how much environmental damage is done by drilling for water, our beloved planet is impacted by all sorts of drilling. Should we also ban drilling for water?

And what about mining? Should we also outlaw all forms of mining?

Should we also outlaw the tember industry and all the idustries that use tember related products such as paper?

Should there be a worldwide ban on drilling and mining? If so, who would enforce the ban, and what would the penalty be?

I want everything. Just no crack down on speculation. If you see right now oil is below $120 a barrel, down $27 from the record high, and we never cracked down on speculators.. It's SUPPLY and DEMAND!

Poll: Americans Want Renewable Energy Investments

Last week Tim Hurst wrote in Red, Green, and Blue that according to the latest Russonello and Stewart poll , a majority (54%) of Americans do not see more drilling as a solution to high gas prices.

In fact, the poll finds, the public overwhelmingly believes (76% to 19%) that policymakers should focus on investing in new energy technologies including renewable fuels and more efficient vehicles rather than expanding exploration and drilling for more oil.

When asked the question: "Looking to the future, which one of the following do you think should be a more important priority for government: Investing in new energy technology including renewable fuels and more efficient automobiles, or expanding exploration and drilling for more oil?", more than three-quarters of respondents favored new technology and renewables. The results do indicate that there is a significant portion of Americans who are not buying the claims made by John McCain, George W. Bush, and other members of the "we must drill more now" club.

As the Write-In Green Party Candidate for Congress in the 6th District, I have spent months reporting that the American people would rather see the Ohio Valley becoming a major player in the renewable energy manufacturing industry of this country. There is no reason why the poor, middle, and working class along the Ohio River Valley should not be employed in Green-Collar/Blue Collar jobs making components for renewable energy systems such as solar power, wind power, and geothermal power.

By going to Washington, I will make this my number one priority.
