Expect former US Senator Mike Dewine to represent the Republicans in this position. I mean the guy is qualified in terms of politics, but he is a Republican and they are unpopular here... but after the Dann debacle, I bet it goes back to the GOP!

Gov. Strickland's Big Political Mistake? The Attorney General's office is very political in Ohio and it will be that way for many years to come!

The Ohio Republican Party has to be elated about Strickland's decision to select Nancy Hardin Rogers as attorney general because she is non political and they are political all of the time.

The Ohio Attorney General's office is the most influential state government office in Columbus and it carries an unbelievable punch of political power.  The Republican Party has historically used that office to effectively control the politics of the entire state.  They must be eager to retake that office in the next election cycle.

Many of the A.G. staffers in Columbus are hard core Republicans and they will go to great lengths to make life difficult for their new non political leader. But because she is a non political officeholder and is unaware of political tactics the Republicans will lull her to sleep and then pounce for the kill during the election.
