Is it similar to a poker run?
I always wondered why they call it a poker run.
That must be it!

This is how the game is played.

Randomly selected playing cards are placed in an envelope and kept at each bar.  When the team captain arrives at a participating bar, he/she selects a card from the envelope.  At the end of the day, the team with the best hand wins.  The proceeds go to the team's favorite charity.

Could it have been the South Avenue Shuffle T-shirt?  This yearly event is organized by the drinking establishments on South Avenue.  Each bar has a team.  Participants travel from bar to bar eating and perhaps drinking along the way. There must be some form of competition among the teams because prizes are awarded.

Over the weekend many people were seen with T Shirts sponsering South Avenue.  Any info on this program???
