Where's the bread coming from?

The production of solar panels is already bringing jobs to the Mahoning Valley.

See the story on the first page of Section I (Business) of Sunday's newspaper.  Northern States Metals is producing components for solar energy collectors.  The panels make up 15% of the company's sales.  Employment is expect to rise.

I couldn't help but think of Irishbobcat when I read the story.

But just how many years before they can get into full production? And where will the money come from? Our government is for all intent and purpose broke ... are we going to borrow it from the Chinese? Why would the Chinese finance industries here in America that would take business away from them?

Are we going to raise taxes to the point where the America people both rich and poor are spending so much tax that they have next to nothing left for food, cloths and shelter?

My goodness, even if the private sector were to fund it themselves, the cost to the consumer would place the goods out of the reach of the average family.

Look at the costs of new drugs that come on line, and the costs of hospital tests. Look at the cost of eco-friendly cars and trucks. Look at the costs verses the ability of the consumer to pay. While the price of high tech toys go down in time, the costs of all the eco-friendly goods keeps going up with no end in sight.

Given the sorry state of the economy the average family simply can not afford to upgrade. Sooner or later the point of no return will be reached and there will be no more money to pay out in taxes, and the first to feel the impact will be local public services including schools.

Do you really want to see school tax levies go down to defeat over and over again forcing local school systems to be reduced to bare bone operation?

Unti government begins working on bringing renewable manufacturing jobs to America there will no bread coming to America.

We have an energy crisis.....is Bush fixing it? Is Congress fixing it? No, but we continue to send millions to rebuild Iraq while our soldiers continue to die there......

And the Republicans and Democrats are to be blamed for this.......

Government by it's very nature is not the producer of any goods. In point of fact, it's the American people that produce the money that keeps government afloat. This is a fact of live.

This being said, lets ask another question. Given the sorry state of the economy, where is the government going to come up with the trillions of dollars that would be needed to satisfy the environmentalists?

Before you answer this question read the following article:

We here in the Mahoning valley are facing the same everyday problems that families all over this great country are facing, and we are no closer to a solution than we were ten years ago, and in many ways our woes are greater because there are no companies offering good paying jobs who want anything to do with us.

Given this sorry picture, how in the name of all that is good and holy are we expected to buy into the environmentalist argument?

How much longer will it be before we start reading about families renting storage sheds to live in after losing their home due to the mortgage crisis?
