West Side Residents Are Upset With City

Fourth Ward Councilwoman Carol Righetti said the city recently demolished the problem house on Chaney Circle.

West side residents vented their frustration with city government at a meeting of the West Side Citizens' Coalition tonight.   Many problems were called to the attention of Councilwoman Carol Righetti and Councilman Paul Drennen.  These are some of the concerns raised.

Little to no progress with a problem house on Chaney Circle
Neighbors claimed that the house should be demolished but someone is still living in it.  The problem has been complained about repeatedly for over nine months.

Problems with rental properties
Residents want to see the landlord registration program put into operation.

Potholes not patched
Even the councilwoman complained that a street department crew was only patching every other pothole on one street.

City employees being added to the payroll
Several residents complained that both the past and present mayors have added dozens of new employees to the city payroll.
