WYTV?

What angers me is that we are heading for the same situation that the people of Akron have to contend with. The big difference here is that we still have WFMJ which is still locally owned. Hopefully they will stay local and expand their news coverage. I would hope that if 27 and 33 drop their local news that Clear Channel will jump into the void and either have one of their stations go all news, or at the very least expand their 5 minute news segments at 6:00 AM - Noon - 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM to half hour news like it was before all the mergers.

I know that at one time WKBN AM had one of the very best news teams in Youngstown ... so good in fact that a number of their reporters went right from WKBN to the networks. Also today WKBN AM has a very good news team that has received a number of awards for their reporting.

Last night someone told me that the MyYTV closed its studio in downtown Youngstown.

This brings up an interesting question.
Ch 27 is located in Boardman and Ch 33 is in Youngstown.  If the owner wanted to eliminate one station,  which would it be?
Would the 2.75% city income tax weigh heavily in their decision?

It looks like Youngstown viewers of the Local News will soon lose two sources of news:

The question is will either 27 or 33 drop their news or both.
