Jay,

I'm pretty sure that this is how things work with regard to unlawful entry into,
and the removal of "stuff" from, a property:

1) Being on the premesis, in and of itself - is trespassing (unless the
person doing it has the permission of either the property owner, or the
tenand(s) residing there.  The "premesis" includes ANY property ouside
the actual home or building that is located on the same parcel of land,
unless such parcel is deemed a "public area" (such as a public park, etc).

2) Being INSIDE a home or building (without permission from someone
authorized to GIVE said permission)  can be considered "breaking and
entering" (EVEN if there is no forced entry to the building or damage
resulting from entry).

3) REMOVING the contents, fixtures, or any part of a home or building,
without permission from someone authorized to give said permission,
is BURGLARY.

Anyways, that's how the local laws here in Maryland are setup.

In looking at the burglaries reported in recent issues of the Golden Gazette, I noticed that these crimes happen the most on the south side of Youngstown.  It appears that the second highest is on the east side.  The west side is the third highest and the north side is the lowest.

Question
Is house stripping considered a burglary?
