Oh yes I was well aware of the crowd because good old YPD chased them down to my block in the 200 block of E. Lucius where they just hung out cursing and hollering. Kudos YPD, like we don't have enough in our neighborhood already. Hotspots on S.Side are Lucius, Avondale, Aburndale, South Ave in front of Allys and Ravenwood all in the 100 up to the 300 block.

In your opinion, which street in the south side hot spot is the worst for this type of bad behavior?  Please also list the streets that would be second and third.
I live on Hilton, but I have driven on South Ave to get to 680, and the crowds around the convenience stores and Save A Lot seem to be the worst.
I don't have a video camera, only digital camera, otherwise I have no problem taping these lowlifes.

Depends upon what time of the day or night.

Today around 3:30 pm, my friend was driving from her job as a legal assistant downtown to pick up her child from daycare.  She was driving south on South Ave near E. Lucius when she said that there were "200 kids all over and in the middle of the road".  Hopefully there weren't as many as she feared, but she felt like that many were there. YPD did, however, show up and chased them away.  Too bad they didn't arrest them for near-rioting and causing a panic!

We tried to drive north on South Ave to the main post office on Sunday at 5:00 pm but changed our plans after we encountered 3 large groups walking in the middle of the road, intimidating people, and acting like they OWNED the street.  No wonder people don't want to drive into Youngstown for anything!

The Mayor should ride through the South Side hot spots in the daytime.  He would definitely get a better sense of what we've been complaining (yes, complaining) about for a long time.

I can tell you plain and simple-politics.
As soon as it got warm, the stereo/car parade starts. The kids play football and basketball in the middle of the road and won't let anyone pass.  This mayor only cared about the hype that a month long crackdown would generate.  Politics as usual.  The faces change but the game is the same.  I for one can and will move out of the "hood" because I am  tired of not getting any sleep thanks to the lowlifes around me, the gunshots all night long and the constant loud fights of the neighbors.  Until this mayor is affected by this himself, he won't care. And he won't be for a while because he lives in a better part of the city.
It needs to be done on the sly so that these lowlifes can't hide for a month and then resume business as usual.

It seems to me that our great and wonderful Mayor has got a couple things  backwards. I being a resident of a high crime neighborhood and also a city employee who can't move out of the city, can probably best speak to everyday life and what is needed in our area to combat crime. The combination effort of the YPD and the Ohio State Troopers worked really well in our neighborhood I actually felt safe for a couple weeks. But the most problematic time for crime in our neighborhood is when it first gets hot outside for those first couple of weeks. Already I have had my 3rd  break-in in 1 year last week.( thank heaven i can pay for an alarm system). Why was this combined effort not done when these young kids who have nothing else better to do with their time but hang out in the streets when it's nice out causing problems.  Why not now!
