I very much agree with your comments on attitude.
This area is living in the past and won't move forward. All you hear is "oh when the mills were open". The mills are not coming back. Let's try to get industry's that are growing to move to Youngstown, not focus on the past.

I've listened/am listening to the last hour of the show.

There are many problems with the area: crime, weather, declining manufacturing jobs.  But, I think the area's biggest problem is with its attitude.  If people didn't dwell so much on how bad they think the area is, and decided to pursue success despite the real problems, the area would be much better off.

As a side note about weather: I like the weather here.  I like that we have seasons.  If I lived in San Diego, and it was nice weather all the time, I would lose my appreciation for it.  (I can't explain the feeling of euphoria I get on our nice spring days.)  I also like snow, and would rarely see it in a more temperate area.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

There is a very interesting conversation taking place today of the Ron Verb show on WKBN 570-AM.  One of the questions asks why more businesses won't move to our area.
Please listen to the program.
