Trial Set For 2016

Well, I think that iwasthere said it best: the trial will be almost a year from
now and a lot could happen by then.

IF his honor the Mayor is convicted, I see no reason why there couldn't be
a special election to replace him for the remainder of his term.  I wouldn't
be happy to see Sammarone take the reins again.

Sammarone is outdated, and often inflexible - but he is a fairly responsible
person who took the job seriously the last time around, for the most part.
The city could do worse, as far as having a "babysitter" until the next general
election.

I think DeWine wants Cafaro's butt behind bars bad enough that he might
dismiss criminal charges against whoever helps him to convict Cafaro.  God
only knows what kind of talks are going on (and will be) behind closed doors
between now and then.

Law enforcement typically heaps as MANY charges as it possibly can on suspects
for the SAME crime - it gives them more leverage in pursuing their case and at
plea-bargaining.

CAN ANYONE SAY POLITICAL VANDETTA ON THE PART OF DEWINE AND HIS CREW? Mayor John will be going on trial in March, 2016 and if  old man dewine has his way, will go to prison. The question is could there be a special election to replace Mayor John or would  dewino go after anyone who throws their hat in the ring?
