Our Future

Now that the election is over, and just another page in the history of our city' 217 yeas, we can now get about the task of making Youngstown a better place to live and work, knowing that our future is in our hands, and not the hands of the political folks who are quick to take bows when anything new comes our way, but had absolutely nothing to bring it about.
Remember as we move forward that the politicians are not the innovators, that comes from the private sector, they are nothing more than the side shows in the circus of progress.
As others have so wisely pointed out, it was the private sector that built our city into a mighty steel center, and they did it without the help of the body politics, but with their own capitol, and it will be the private sector that will do it again so long as the nay sayers do not try to throw up roadblocks in their way.
As we move forward, let us keep our eyes on the prize and leave the politicians struggle to keep up with us,for in the final analysis, they will be quickly forgotten while those who rebuild our city will join the ranks of those who brought a sleepy village into a major industrial center.
