A group trying to preserve company homes in Campbell said they hope the oil and gas industry could lend them a helping hand.

Members of the Iron Soup Historical Preservation group held a demonstration Thursday outside the Mahoning County Courthouse.

They said they hope oil and gas companies would be interested in donating to the renovation of the old Sheet and Tube company homes, which the group said could house the workers coming to this area.

The group also asked for financial assistance from the Mahoning County Commissioners.

"They would be renovating an endangered national historical site, which is proven across the United States to bring jobs, revenue and commerce to the area," said demonstrator Tim Sokoloff
