The portajohn was on the corner of Phelps and Federal not in front of the restaurant.  That place has been practically dead for the last 6 months. It's a shame beacause the food is great.  Service is terrible.  It is very common situation where the owner just wants the glamor of owning a restaruant but not be involved.  Ive seen many times where tables are ignored and he is bs ing up front with someone.  Youre going to blame a sewer job on your lack of business when most of your customers travel by foot?  They have to step up their game to compete.  I don't see V2 or Avalon's business slowing down.

Annie Gillam expects the Man behind the tree to do her work for her. She wants publicity for herself, but only if it bebefits her and takes little effort on her part.

Poor communications all around on this project. The city can't be content with just using the Vindicator to publish work notices.
Tod Franko writes every month about declining readership. City Council needs to mail or visit business owners in the future. The
port-a-john could have been placed elsewhere instead of right in front of a restaurant. That's just using common sense.

Annie Gillam tries to deflect blame to the "City" to inform businesses about the project.  Well Mrs. Gillam is the councilmember for that area. She is the one who is the people's representative in city government.  Why didn't she go door to door and talk to the various business owners?  Isn't that something a councilmember should be doing?

Downtown businesses are angry at the way the city has handled the work being done replacing pipes in the west end.
