 Some members would like the steeple to be restored exactly, because it is located within the Wick Park Historic District.

Others are concerned about the cost of restoration, and some have suggested steeple alternatives such as solar panels or a wind turbine.

It would be a crime if the steeple was not restored and solar panels or a wind turbine were placed there instead.

First Unitarian is a very beautiful church whose beauty would be destroyed by placing solar panels or a wind turbine in the steeples place destroying the steeples symbolism and making the church just another building.
