tt i was told a different story by a person who is close to jv. the story is a coffee shop wants to rent out the bottom thus giving pip the upper floors to use for the pip business.

The artists are going to need a new business model if they are going to assume control over the Wonder Bread building.

Fantastic! Maby if and when the Wonder Bread building becomes available that a group of artists could take it over and turn it into a gallery showcasing local artists work sort of like a West Side version of the Butler Instituite of American Art.

QuoteJay, maby you can help them locate along Mahoning Avenue. Fill up some of the empty buildings there.

The Garden District Neighborhood Association on the west side has been encouraging artists to relocate to this area which boarders Mill Creek Park.

iwasthere are you saying that WKBN News was telling a lie about Pig Iron Press? Why would they use the story as their lead story tonight if they didn't have all the facts?

jay

The artists kept buildings occupied.   If the buildings were left vacant,  they would have been stripped years ago and probably demolished by now.

rr and tt the pig is not dead until the fat  lady sings.

Jim should have paid his taxes, and maybe kept up with the times.   He didn't want to use computers and that seriously impacted his business model.

I won't shed a tear for the arts community.

Towntalk

According to WKBN Pig Iron Press is no more ... the building has been sold ... and the new owners will open up a new business next spring.

There are no details about what sort of business will go into the space as yet.

The arts community is in a tizzy that all the development downtown is forcing them to look for another area where the rent is dirt cheep.
