That's nice....44 million to a CEO is a drop in a bucket........but they would probably cry foul if healthcare costs to employees rose 44 million.......funny how conservatives and big business have no problem with throwing money at their own but do have a problem with throwing money at employees to ensure they have a living wage.......

Rick Rowlands

44 million is a drop in the bucket to a company such as Duke.  It won't even cause a ripple.

irishbobcat

So, If Duke  Energy has to lay off employees or charge consumers  higher rates to pay for this million dollar package, you don't have a problem with this sarge?  You conservatives are truely heartless sobs....

sfc_oliver

A private company is a private company. In this case, you don't want to use their serices, find an alternate means of energy........

Haven't seen You putting solar panels on your roof yet........

Ricky, so where did the 44 million dollars come from to pay him? Did the 44 million come from the stock holders or  did the money eventually come from Joe Public who will pay for it through cost increases and such?

Rick Rowlands

Read the article.  He was fired.

Also, its so blatantly obvious that there is no comparison between Duke Energy, a PRIVATE CORPORATION, and the PUBLIC ENTITIES such as fire departments, police departments and schools that you compare it to.  Private corporations are accountable to stockholders while public entities are accountable to taxpayers.  Perhaps at the next stockholders meeting some stockholders will complain about this move just as some taxpayers are complaining about what is going on in the public entities.

Educate yourself!

And the ultra-conservative big business supporters want to blame public employees like teachers,
police, and fire for destroying the economy....

What about CEO's that work one day, and receive a $44 million dollar severance package?

Always nice to see the ultra-conservatives compalin about public employees salaries and pensions...
yet never say a word about big time CEO's who really take home the big bucks...
