Whatever the gunman's reasons for the shooting, which remain unclear,
the local sheriff believes it is time for America to do some soul-searching
over the state of its political rhetoric...

As Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, speaking from the heart at an emotional news conference last night, said:

There's reason to believe that this individual may have a mental issue. And I think people who are unbalanced are especially susceptible to vitriol... When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous.

I truly hope no one tries to politicize this.

All my heartfelt prayers go out to the Congresswoman and her family, and all the victims and their families of this senseless act.

Can't wait to see how the pundits try to pin this on the Tea Party!

I just heard the news about the congresswoman from Arizona.
I sure hope that this is not the start of a new form of violence in America.
