For those near the Cornersburg area
A source of occasional sweet treats

The Cornersburg Sparkle Market bakery often has in-store baked goods marked down.  These items are in a shopping cart at the corner of the bakers sales area.   Some items are marked down as much as $3.00 per packeage.  The other day the basket contained pies, donuts, and creme cakes.

The Cornersburg Sparkle Market is on the 35-Cornersburg WRTA bus route.  A bus shelter is in front of the store.

Most of the Vindicator articles can be read on the Vindy.com website.  I've been trying to get my wife to cancel the newspaper and just read it online but so far she won't do it.  Its not so much the cost as the waste.  One bag a week just for old newspapers.

I pay $2.95 a month for an online Business Journal subscription.

I will have to agree with Jay that the library is a good place to spend some time.

More Suggestions

Drop the local newspaper and read it at the public library

Drop internet service and go on line at the public library

Turn down your heat at home and spend the day in a warm public library

Jay , being on a fixed income myself (I was even when I was working) I agree with you about cutting back, I only have high speed internet 40.00, Magic Jack 20.00 a year, TV, free via air & internet so for what I was paying about 160.00 (Phone - internet  Cable) per month for , I now pay about 42.00 a month. And if need be that can go too.

Sure wish I had 99 weeks of unemployment when I was furloughed from the RR back in the 80's . I had to work minimum wage jobs for 4 bucks an hour. Its really funny, but when the gubberment runs out of money they just print more and screw the working taxpayer.  Do ya think this economy crap was orchestrated because peoples bitched about illeagles ? Now the ruling class are going to make Americans do field labor for payback ? Unemployment has to end sometime. I wonder how USA is going to figure this economic mess out ? comments ?

Another Suggestion

Drop your cable service if you still have it.

Or be like the rest of us hard working Americans and scrape to get by not depending on a handout.

What are you talking about?  Jay was just suggesting a switch from a more convenient, more expensive, government subsidized form of transportation to a less convenient, less expensive, government subsidized form of transportation.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Suggestion

When unemployment ends, take one (or more) of the family cars out of service.  You will be able to avoid insurance, fuel purchases, repairs, and more on that vehicle.  If you live close to a WRTA bus route, consider the bus for your transportation needs.
