I did not know that a unanimous decision was not overturnable.

Towntalk

Any Supreme Court can be overturned by another decision as demonstrated by the history of the Civil Rights movement (Dred Scott a case in point).

How do you figure it was a stalemate? They  ruled in favor of individual gun ownership.
this ruling canbe overturned dan because of the closeness of the vote on this issue. the sc ruling was a 5/4 decision not exactly a runaway vote.

We will not be stripped of our right to bear arms. That will be the day that the USA dies, and this great experiment fails.

The issue is not whether criminals have guns, the issue is whether us law abiding citizens can legally own guns to defend ourselves.
RR you can say what you want about defending yourself and loved ones but the recent SC ruling was a close one. the battle of gun's rights issue was no ones victory but a stalemate.

no i did not read the link but i had listen to news reports on this subject when the supreme ct ruled on the guns isssue. towntalk the sc was a five to four decision. the ruling still canbe overturn if they decide to here another similiar gun case.

Towntalk

Did you read the link? The Supreme Court said that neither states or localities could pass laws that strip citizens of their 2nd amendment rights. The U.. Constitution trumps state and local laws.

no matter how many laws you have on the city's books, crimminals will always find guns to kill innocent/guilty people.

Towntalk

In a 5-4 decision the Supreme Court strikes down the Chicago anti-gun ban saying that it violates the 2nd Amendment.
