Thanks, Phil, for posting this.

The Buckeye Park clean-up really needs your help. We have been discussing this for months and finally we have a day to improve this asset. The city installed some new fencing (after we begged them to) but it does not match the old fencing and we need to paint it. Also, we will be doing a general clean up.

Our parks are a very important part of the livability of our city.  Please come even if just for an hour. Lunch will be served.

One of this forum's members has very generously offered to help including bringing his truck and painting equipment!  A gigantic thank you in advance!

Also, any Time Bank member helping out can get credit through me since my block watch, Powerstown Neighbors/Snoop Block Watch is a Time Bank member.

1. 7th Ward Neighborhood Sign Dedication & Buckeye Park Clean Up

WHEN: Saturday, May 15th 9:30am

WHERE: - Intersection of Midlothian & Yo-Poland Road (Mt. Vernon)

DETAILS: On Saturday, May 15th, 2010, Buckeye Eyes & Ears Block Watch, in conjunction with the 7th Ward Citizens Coalition, will dedicated a sign marking the entry to the historic Buckeye Plat neighborhood. The sign was commissioned by the 7WCC and paid for in part by a grant from the Raymond John Wean Foundation. It will be located at the Mont Vernon cul-de-sac, proudly displaying the Buckeye Plat name at one of our neighborhood's busiest intersections. The 9:30am sign dedication will be followed by a Community Clean-Up of Buckeye Park and a picnic lunch. Painting of the Buckeye Park fence is planned in conjunction with the general park clean-up. All are welcome. If you can't help with the heavy work, please consider helping with lunch, passing out water, or just hanging out with your neighbors or fellow volunteers. 2. Wick Park Neighborhood – "The Farms on Baldwin" Community Garden Planting

WHEN: Saturday, May 15th, 10 a.m. – 1pm

WHERE: Corner of Elm and Baldwin (just east of 901 Elm St.)

DETAILS: Help plant! Bring to reality Northeast Ohio Food Hub's commercial/experimental vegetable & fruit farm -"The Farms on Baldwin" - Wick Park Neighborhood, Youngstown, OH! Bring energy and diggers. Will be followed by bratwurst & kraut, veggie burger bbq, salad & sweets. For more information, call Jim @ (330) 518-6971.

3. Crandall Park North Neighborhood – Parkside Neighbors Clean Up

WHEN: Saturday, May 15th – 9am

WHERE: Meet at 1852 Selma for Coffee and Donuts and bag distribution.
